Starting off Well by Doing Good: C4C Club Gives Back | by Emily

We’re one month into the program, and C4C is in full swing! We started the year off with the entire first year class spending a few hours at the Boys & Girls Club. They helped paint the building, clean-up the lawn, build furniture…and spent an hour with the kids in their after school program! Thanks to our incoming class generously donating their time, we had 200+ volunteer hours on the books before the school year even started!

Right now, C4C is busy working with ASM gearing up for Casino Royale. For the first time, Casino Royale is being held in conjunction with the annual C4C auction that benefits the Boys & Girls Club of Greater Sacramento and Special Olympics of Northern California. I may be biased but last year those two events were my favorites, and I know that the combined event will be the best Casino Royale so far!

We’re also holding a few volunteer events this quarter, and then will really kick things into high gear Winter quarter. My personal favorite volunteering event is coming up on November 9th Olympics Bowling Tournament. Working with the Special Olympics athletes is always a fun and rewarding experience, and the athletes are all truly exceptional.

C4C had a great year last year, and this year is shaping up to being even better. Remember…it’s for the kids!
